The Den Studio is a nonprofit arts organization rooted in Dayton, Washington — bringing live music, arts education, community events, and creative access to Columbia County residents of every age, ability, and background.

Our story

We started with a simple belief: a community with access to the arts is more connected, more resilient, and more fully itself. In a rural county where arts programming has been hard to reach, The Den exists to change that — right here, in Dayton, at 257 W Main Street.

What we do

You’ll find Gary's Grove — a living, breathing performance and community space with a real stage, instruments on every wall, and something happening most evenings. Weekly open jam sessions. Live music. Karaoke. Film nights. Poetry. Storytelling. Comedy. Gallery openings. All of it designed to bring people together and keep the bar low enough that anyone can walk through the door.

You’ll find an open self-guided acrylic painting studio during our open business hours, creation stations with new and exciting mediums on rotation, and in-house screen-printing. Beyond the stage, we run free and subsidized arts education, after-school and summertime youth support programs, and the first Memory Café in Columbia County — a welcoming space for people living with dementia and their care partners to gather, create, and find community. Veterans, seniors, adults and youth with special needs — everyone has a place here.

The Den studio is currently being run and supported by Carissa Linder Art and The Den Studio 501c3 to aid in support of grant opportunities and free community funding projects.
